An Introduction to 12STR: A Christian-Integrated, Structured, Replicable Trauma Recovery Model

Most models treat "trauma-informed" care as a helpful add-on. The Strategic Trauma & Abuse Recovery System (12STR®) takes a different approach. Rather than focusing primarily on symptom reduction, 12STR® provides a phase-based, source-focused roadmap to help clients move from survival to healing and reconnection. This model is trauma-centric, seeing past trauma as the root of most behavioral health and relationship issues, as demonstrated by the ACE study and others.

In this thought-provoking, 3-hour introduction, participants will explore the three phases and 12 stages of the 12STR® model, the Trauma Survivor Blueprint, and the role of survival responses as adaptive attempts to manage unresolved trauma. We will review the theory and the controversial concept of being source-focused while going around most symptoms when possible. Clinicians will leave with assessments and educational tools they can begin to integrate into their practice now.
