What does "Certification" mean? What will it do for me?
Although anyone can read a book about Trauma Resolution Therapy and try to practice it in their office, it is a specialized technique that does not allow you to "fly by the seat of your pants". Attending certification training with Trauma Education & Consultation Services means that you have been prepared to face the challenges of working with traumatized people by Certified TRT counselors who are also state licensed and Certified Presenter/Trainer. Denice Adcock Colson was Certified as an ETM/TRT Presenter/Trainer in 1996 by Craig Carson as the representative of Jesse Collins. At that time she completed her training with Craig Carson and paid her fees (then $5000, plus $2500 for slides and materials) to use all of the training materials to certify ETM/TRT counselors and train other ETM/TRT trainers with exclusive rights in the Christian Community. She was then made a "permanent" ETM/TRT Presenter/Trainer by Craig Carson and Jesse Collins.
Denice Colson, M.S., LPC, MAC and her assistant facilitators have a combined 25 years of experience in the face-to-face delivery of TRT services in a variety of therapeutic environments (inpatient, outpatient, adults, children, adolescents, couples, Christian, secular, etc). While certification in ETM/TRT does not allow a person to set up practice as a counselor, already practicing counselors will learn to take the theory of ETM/TRT and put it into practice. Training from the TECS team means training from people who use TRT everyday and have seen and experienced first hand the dramatic results of this amazing, yet simple, technique.
Certification by TECS means that you have completed our stringent training (as originally designed by Jesse Collins), passed the final exam, and signed the Certification Agreement. But, please don't confuse certification with licensure. State licensure boards determine the qualifications of a licensed professional. There are two levels of certification offered: Clinical Certification for otherwise licensed professionals, and Associate Certification, for non-licensed professionals. Also, you may opt for a certificate of attendance in lieu of full certification which does not require passing the test.
You must successfully complete all required classes for certification.
